Important days

  • Homework will be given out on a Friday and must be returned by Tuesday. If your child needs help with their homework, please speak with their class teacher before the return day.
  • Outdoor games is on a Monday (5Y) and Tuesday (5B). Children need to bring PE kit and trainers. Indoor PE is on Monday (5B) and Tuesday (5Y)




This half term our topic will be forces of nature. We will be looking at several different types of forces of nature including:  Earthquakes, Volcanic eruptions, Hurricanes, Tsunamis and Tornadoes.

Children will be learning about why they occur, the effect they have, how scientists detect them and how people can stay safe when they occur.  

In Science, this half term we will learn about forces. We will be covering the following areas:  Balanced and unbalanced forces  Gravity  Air resistance  Water resistance   Friction    Mechanisms



Your child should be reading at home at least 3 times a week. We expect children to read to an adult at least once a week. We will be checking reading records every Friday to ensure reading is taking place at home. It is very important that your child discusses what they have read with an adult, so please continue to use the question prompts that are stuck inside the reading record.
