Quadkids - 6th July 2017

Ten of our year 5 children took part in a Quadkids competition at the Eastlands Stadium on Thursday 6th July. They each had to take part in four events which were:

Kwame did very well and came 2nd place in his group for the 600m. He also won the 75m sprint in his group. It was a fantastic afternoon, the sun shone, there was a great team spirit throughout and the children did us proud. Well done! Click here to see the results from the day.

Fun Run - 14th June 2017

Miss West took her Change for Life group to Sportcity to take part in a 2km fun run. The children managed to complete the run and enjoyed themselves. They also came back with a couple of goodies too!

Kwik Cricket - 9th May 2017

What a brilliant competition our year 6 boys took part in on Tuesday 9th May. We began by playing 2 matches, where we lost one to Green End, by only 5 pts and won one by a clear 11 pts To St Anthony’s. Fantastic fielding by Nayshaun and batting by Junaid, Bilal and Fardeen. We then went into the playoffs against Ladybarn and again won by another 11 pts. Fahad really excelled in this match. Overall we came away very proud and pleased with what we had achieved. Unfortunately our scores were not high enough overall to make it to the Citywide finals. But we did Acacias proud! Click here to see the results of the competition.

Kwik Cricket - 25th April 2017

A very close kwik cricket match was had between Acacias and Birchfields on the 25th April. The final score was 221 to Birchfields and 215 to Acacias. The terrible weather did not stop the boys from enjoying themselves and we look forward to competing at Parrswood High School on the 9th May.

Hockey competition - 9th March 2017

Well done to five of our Year 6 children who took part in a hockey competition at Manchester High School for Girls. Playing five games in total, the pupils played exceptionally well and worked together as a team. There was fantastic defending from Fardeen and Amaan, and Demi was quick on her toes to try and keep the ball in the opponents half throughout, but unfortunately was off target for a few of her shots. Overall we won a game, drew one and lost three. Although we did not make the Citywide Finals we did come fourth in our fixture which was a great effort. Fantastic atmosphere, great sport spirit and enjoyment all round. We look forward to future competitions. Click here to see information on the tournament.

Basketball - 6th February 2017

Some of our Year 5 and Year 6 children took part in a basketball competition at Levenshulme High School on Monday 6th February. They played four matches and had a great time but unfortunately did not manage to score. The standards were very high and it was extremely competitive. However, this did not stop our team from giving 100%. We are very proud of our basketball players and we enjoyed every bit of the tournament.Click here to see information on the results from week 2 of the competition.
